  • Question

  • The past few weeks I have been experiencing this message (in subject line) when trying to use the Access Developer's Forum.  I sign in successfully, but then when I try to respond to someone's post, I get a blank message box with just the OK button and no message or title.  I click ok and try clicking the submit button and sometimes it goes, other times I get another message box this time asking me if I want to stop receiving messages from this web page and a check box.  When that happens, I click ok to dismiss the box (with or without checking the prompt regarding continued messages for the page).  Then it goes to another page (see image below) saying that something went wrong.  If I close the browser and reopen it sometimes that helps sometimes it doesn't.  If I switch to a different browser, sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't.

  • Two things.

First, we're submitting this as a bug. It's hard to duplicate unless you already have the issue, which is a combination of Live ID, the Forums, and your cookies/settings. It is not related to your browser (we've seen this on IE and Firefox so far) or your system.

    Second, we have a workaround...

    • Delete cookies (also refer to the screenshot below): leave only one browser tab open. Navigate to Tools > Internet Options > General (tab) > Delete (make sure all the boxes are checked) > Delete.
    • Use in-private browsing: Navigate to Tools > InPrivate browsing to try the site.
    • To avoid regional issue, please try the site from another computer.

  • Thanks.  The next time I see it, I will use your work around.  Just an FYI: I have seen it on multiple computers/ISPs

  • Hi -suzyQ,

We had received Ed's request. Though we can't reproduce this issue, after Ed's description, we think it is better for us to escalate this to production team.

As I and production team can't reproduce this issue now, their is no action we can take currently. If you see this issue again, can you please try the solution Ed had provided? If still no success, can you please reply back this thread (with detailed description, such as the version of the browser) and we will involve production team to investigate this? Thanks for your understanding!

It's happened several times since.  I have tried his workaround, but it eventually encounters the same issue.  Not only that, but at the same time, I have several tabs open for which I've signed into at other websites, and reopening the browser means that I need to sign into all the other sites all over again.

not just Firefox.  Firefox is my default browser, but I've also seen the issue in I.E. several times.  I'm using Firefox 15.  I.E. is version 8.

  • Mee too, almost 7 from 10 entries on MS forums in FF lead to that pesky message.
