Hi, I desperately need your help. A couple of months ago the hard drive on my Acer Extensa 5635Z developed bad sectors that were irrecoverable, so I had to install a brand new hard drive on my laptop. I had the acer eRecovery disks burnt prior to the hard
disk failing completely. I was going to purchase the exact same hard drive (320gb) as I had suspicions that the recovery disk might not work otherwise but the guy at the store who sold me the hard drive that there is no reason why it shouldn't work and he
guaranteed that it will work. So I purchased a new 500gb hard drive. Problem is the eRecovery disks didn't work and it would appear to have installed completely but after restarting it says Windows cannot configure windows to this computer's hardware. I was
absolutely furious at that guy from the store but no point crying over spilt milk.
I needed a quick immediate solution so I cloned my unbootable HDD with all it's partitions to my new 500GB hard disk. The cloning software also fixed the problem bits that were cloned from the original HDD. I've lost a few media files but other than that
Windows appears fully functional until I get the prompt that I'm not running a genuine version on Windows 7.
Surely I shouldn't have to spend money to activate what is already a genuine version of Windows. I tried activating it but haven't been able to. Can someone please help? Here's what came up when I ran the diagnostic tool.
