PWA resource assignment to a task less than 100%

Question
-
In PWA is it possible to assign a resource to a specific task at say 10%, whilst being able to assign the same resource to other tasks at 100%. I can only see Max units at the resource level, but how can I change this at a task level?
I had my original project defined in Project Professional 2010 with different units for different tasks, but all these assignements seemed to get lost when the project was saved to project server.

Have you tried applying the Task Usage or Resource Usage views? You can see the amount of planned work in the timephased grid on the right. This should show your assignments at 10% units reflected in the work totals. You can also add the "Peak" and "Assignment Units" fields to this view to see this information. The Assignment Units field contains the %units at which you assigned the resources, the Peak field contains the highest historical usage of the resource on the assignment.

One does not use Project Web App for this purpose as it is not capable of assigning resources at anything but 100%. This is one of its limitations.

Actually, they aren't lost. Once you assign a resource at a certain percentage, the underlying assignment doe not change, however the actual resource usage, or peak usage, may change based on what the resource reports. For instance, you assign a resource at 10% of an 8 hour day, but the resource works 8 hours that day. Your peak usage changes.
Understand that there is no way to prevent resource overallocations using Max Units.

Hi Gary,
Thanks for the response, and glad to hear that my assignments are not lost but how can i see that through PWA. Looks to me through the schedule that my resource is assigned at 100%, i cant see that they have been assigned only 10% for that task. Am I missing something?

Hey Gary,
The Task Usage or Resource Usage views are available via Project Professional and show exactly what I need. These views are not available in Project Server. How does one assign a resource to a task in project server at only 10%, although their max units for this project are 100%?
Cheers,
