Problem with online Office Validation RRS feed

    Hi,

     

    I have a customer who purchased an OEM version of Office with a new PC however she is unable to download from the Offfice website as she gets the message that her version of Office is not valid. MGADiag report below.

              You have two versions of Office installed: Microsoft Office Standard 2007 and 2007 Microsoft Office system and is why your receiving the PID 104 error.  Please uninstalled the trial version. After you have successfully uninstalled the trial verison of Office please restart your computer.  Next you will need to validate Office again . Please visit http://www.windows.com/genuine and click on the "Validate Office" button located in the upper right hand corner of the monitor. Follow the instructions after you click the button.  

     

    There maybe some of the remnants were left behind during the removal process. If your still experiencing difficulities please look @ the following Knowledge Base (KB) article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218/en-us. Here you will find detailed instructions for removing the trial release versions of Office Suite 2007 or program.

     

    Important:  This article contains information about how to modify the registry. Make sure that you back up the registry before you modify it. Make sure that you know how to restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up, restore, and modify the registry, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
