trying to renew, but it says product key already in use RRS feed

  • My trial subscription on this computer ran out, so I am trying to reactivate it.  However, I recently purchased and installed OneCare using a CD with a product key onto my wife's computer.  As I renew my computer, I would like to just make it the second pc in our OneCare circle.  however, when I enter the product key, OneCare says this product key is already in use - of which I'm aware.  So, when I enter the only live.com e-mail address that could have been associated with the account, I am told that no billing is associated with that address.  Stuck and frustrated.  There really isn't a billing relationship anyway, because I've already bought the darn product.

  • Hello chief365, on the computer where you are attempting to activate One Care, use the same Live ID and password used on your wife's computer to subscribe. You can find the correct Live ID on her computer by opening One Care>Help>About Windows Live One Care.
