Will there finally be advanced form of search some day, or Microsoft needs to buy Google for this?

Suppose I search for something (like "Provisioning a computer for Driver Development") and get screenful of results, but they are mixed in time. I recall that the post I'm searching was posted about a week ago. So how to order the results (threads) by date of last post? When I use sort controls on top of the results, the search is lost, it just sorts all the threads. How to make sorting work on search results only?

When using the forums search it seems to want to change the default sort to "relevance" You can change it back to sort on "most recent post" You may get better results by using bing or google something like;

"windows update" site:https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver

https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=%22windows+update%22+site:https:%2F%2Fsocial.technet.microsoft.com%2FForums%2Fwindowsserver
