MCITP - Where to Start? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'd like to begin studying for the most recent MCITP.  Not sure where to start and which exams to use.  Is the latest still 2008 or will it be 2012 products?

  • MCITP is being phased out. This certification will no longer be available to earn as of July 31, 2013

Take a look at this page - MCITP is being replaced with MCSA and MCSE.

    Hope this helps!

  • Except that it's as clear as mud (to someone new to certification) on those pages that MCITP 2008 server admin (which is being phased out) has exactly the same exams as the replacement MCSA 2008 server admin

    MCITP 2008 (exams 70-640, 70-642, 70-646)

    MCSA 2008 (exams 70-640, 70-642, 70-646)

Arguably no-one is studying MCITP 2008 Server Admin anymore as they are automatically studying for MCSA Server Admin.

Not entirely correct.  The following MCITP Windows Server 2008 certifications have different requirements.

MCITP: Enterprise Administrator on Windows Server 2008

MCITP: Virtualization Administrator on Windows Server 2008 R2
