No p2p sync depending on network

Question
-
I have reported this before, even submitted it as bug with logs. Never heared anything.
Anyway here's the problem:
two computers A (XP SP3 desktop, on home network) and B (XP SP3 notebook)
When I have B on my home network, sync'ing is fine.
When I have B on my work network, new folders sync, but not the files (only placeholders).
I can connect to the desktop from A to B and vice versa.
As soon I connect B to my home network, everything syncs normal.
Both sides use firewalls, but there was a time that sync'ing was normal, and why would mesh be able to sync new folders, but not its contents?
BTW, this may be important: sync'ing through Live Desktop works fine.
However, the p2p sync'ing is the culprit, and those folders are too big to fit on Live Desktop.

I've reported a P2P sync problem (work-home).The likely cause of this problem is the Trend Micro Firewall Driver in the network connection.I removed the driver and restarted my machine. The driver is re-installed by the trend micro service, but now sync'ing is no longer a problem.A more simpler method might be to disable the OfficeScan NT firewall service and see what happens.(BTW: if you do disable it, you need some other form of protection)My $0,02HTH

What is the bug report number/link for your original report? How long ago did you file the report? (I seem to recall your prior post on this issue...) If you don't recall the bug report number or can't get the link for posting here, please file another bug report with logs for the team to review. (and post the link back here for the bug report)
I can't answer your question, but it seems like a firewall issue. It is possible that the client is able to communicate that there are changes, but P2P traffic is being blocked by the firewall, so the files cannot sync over the Internet via P2P, but only locally.

I am having the same issue except that I don't even get place holders. It happens often when I update a file on my laptop as it is away from my home network. How would I check to see if the firewall is blocking it?

Are you synchronizing P2P only or are you also synchronizing via the Live Desktop?
When it is away from the home network, how is the laptop connected to the Internet?

I am still having this issue. Just happened to me again. I had to wait till I opened my laptop on my home network to get the files I had worked on with the laptop while it was connected to the internet in another location. I do not have a firewall issue as I have checked that. I currently am running with my anti virus off to see if that is it so that is not the issue.

I am still having this issue. Can anyone provide any help in this problem. I know this is an old thread, but the problem still exists.
Here is when it happens.
I am at home all syncing happens fine. No problems.
But when I take my latpop on the road, nothing every syncs until I get home. That defeats the purpose for which I am using LM. I want it to sync no matter where I am.

Does your data also sync to the Live Desktop?
P2P sync over the Internet requires that the router pass this traffic. Your router may be blocking it or your ISP may even be blocking P2P traffic, though that seems less likely.

How do you know that it isn't your ISP or router at home? If Live Mesh can't make the connection to sync, it isn't going to sync, even if the public WiFi hot spot is allowing the traffic.
Once again, though - do you only sync via P2P or are your files and folders synchronizing with the Live Desktop?
If you include the Live Desktop as a storage point, the files can sync up to the cloud via https and down to other devices via https if a P2P connection cannot be established.
