Unable to download files from WHS to my Blackberry RRS feed

    I am trying to download pictures and music from my WHS to my Blackberry. I am able to login remotely and can navigate to the folder where my files reside, but when I click on them I get the message box "please wait while WHS prepares your files...." and then nothing.

    On normal web sites, I can download with no problem. It prompts me with the dialog box asking if I want to save the file.

    Has anyone else had this problem? I was excited that I could have access to my music and pictures without having to use my laptop, but it does not seem to work.

    It could be that your Blackberry browser times out after a relatively brief period, or it could be that it can't handle the way that Windows Home Server Remote Access is delivering the file. Windows Home Server Remote Access isn't designed to be used from a mobile device; it's designed for a computer (laptop or desktop) with a full browser implementation.

    You will likely be better off asking RIM why you can't download files from your server using your Blackberry, to be honest.

    I suggest to use www.opera .com/mobile/ instead of the default browser.

    Thanks for the reply, Ken. I think it does have to do with the way that WHS is delivering the file. I guess I could try and set up FTP and do it that way, but it sure seems like I should be able to do it through the web interface.

    I did download opera. I like the way it works, but I am not able to even get the WHS login page.

     

    Have you been able to get it to work using Opera?
