Difference in size between Left and Right Folders RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a new installation of SyncToy on a brand new machine. I used the Echo setting to copy approximately 1Tb of data from my main 2Tb storage drive to a 2Tb external USB drive. When I checked the amount of data on both drives after running SyncToy I found that USB had some 471Mb less data than the drive I had backed up from.

I didn't expect them to be identical as I understand certain system files aren't copied by default, but 471 Mb seems an awful lot. There is just too much there to check the differences manually.

I'm wondering if I have anything to be worried about, or would that sort of difference be considered normal.

Any help would be much appreciated.
