When is MSFT going to fix the RichTextBox editor on Forums? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Many of us post code (C#) in my case.  I will copy a perfect looking copy of it from the IDE in Visual studio, paste it in the RichTextBox for code and mark the code type as C#...

Font sizes differ, each additional new edit add spaces to the code,  All front spaces are preserved which cause code to wrap... No way to adjust font sizes etc.

Someone posted a RTB convertor in some of the forums (.NET C# and WPF) that works like a charm...Problem is it would be better for the function to exist in this editor instead.

We are well aware of the bugs in the RTE, it is just taking time to get to them. Can you point me to the above? Also, have you used the code editor in stackoverflow? What are your thoughts around that?

  • Brent,

Hannes link is the one I was referring to.  The interesting thing is that JohnWein created this for Client side formating of which is simply pasted into this site's RTB control.  Because John manipulates the RichText itself, I would Guess/Assume that, the same design could be utilized here.
