Is it ok to delete/remove LiveSearchSiteAuth.xml file afer verification? Does MSN Live bot look for it the next time it does the crawling?

Hi,
Thank you Johnathan, you are correct. We regularly check the authorization code to verify that the domain webmaster or owner has not changed. In the event that the domain changes ownership, the new owner will have to create their own account in webmaster tools or have your account information to log in.
Thanks,
Brett

From what I understand, you must leave it there so it can continue to verify that you are the site owner.
I strongly recommend you leave the file in place.Tuesday, April 22, 2008 12:07 AM -

Just like in Google, if you delete it by accident you will have to verify your website again.Friday, April 25, 2008 10:28 PM

Can we have multiple users with different webmasters tools login to verify the same site?
i.e. i am the site owner of a website "A", "B" and "C", and another 3rd party wants to access my webmasters tools to gain info for website "A" only. Instead of my own login with access to all three websites, can I ask them to sign up to microsoft webmasters center, and generate their authentication file, where i will place it in the website?
so that they will only have access to one site's data? Where I will have the control to remove them when the project finish?
Thank you.

Hi MOSS, is there any specific reason you need to delete the file?Tuesday, May 6, 2008 12:22 AM

Hi all,
I'm new to Live but I had a simialr thought as MOSS.
I have more than one site using the same hosting - e.g. www.bellhop.com.au and www.bellhop.co.nz use the same hosting - and I'd like to verify each of them.
How do I verifyt each of them? Can I change the name of the file? Or add another <user> node for each site?Sunday, June 8, 2008 1:11 PM
