Windows 7 Build 7601 not geniune RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was given a Lenovo Thinkpad laptop as a birthday present and after about 6 months, I turn on my system and the wallpaper's black and the Windows not genuine message pops out and keeps on popping. Please how do I solve this? It's supposed to be an OEM setup system but i cant seem to find the Microsoft sticker anywhere on the back or even under the battery? Any other solutions? Here's my diagnostic report. Please help me out.

  • Unfortunately, someone who had access to your Lenovo Thinkpad notebook PC installed a counterfeit copy of Windows 7 Ultimate.  In order to correct this issue, contact Lenovo Support and order their Windows OEM system recovery disc and then perform a "clean install".  Or you can purchase a "Full Version" edition of Windows 7 from the Microsoft Store and perform a "clean install".

  • For which edition of WIndows is the laptop licensed, according to teh COA sticker on the case?

If it's Win 7 Ultimate, then use the Key from the sticker, and the Change Product Key link on the System properties page to activate teh system.

If it's anything else, you will need to use the REcovery System provided by the manufacturer to put the machine back to the ex-factory state, or purchase a legitimate REtail copy of Ultimate and use the Key from that.
