  • General discussion

This issue has been resolve. Mozilla have removed the WGA Plugin from thier Block List.

NOTE: Any user that has downloaded the the WGA Plugin while it was still on the FireFox Block List will need to folllow the below steps to get the WGA Plugin to start working again:

    1.       The user is required to delete the old plug-in.

    2.       The user may need to wait (up to) 24 hours for their FireFox client to make a call to the Mozilla block-list and gets updated.

    3.       The user can then visit http://microsoft.com/genuine and validate.

    4.       The alternatives of using IE is still a valid option.

Attention users of the FireFox 3.0 Internet Browser:

An issue has been found when using FireFox 3.0 to Validate Microsoft Windows.

Action: Customer attempts to Validate their copy of Windows using FireFox 3.0.

Result: Validation Process will just not be able to complete successfully. (More specifically, the process will be unable to even start)

Cause: This is due to the new FireFox 3.0 code listing the Windows Validation plug-in on it's Blocked list.

Resolution: Microsoft is currently working, in conjunction with FireFox, to resolve this issue in their code. In the interim, customers can use Internet Explorer to validate their copy of Windows.

    Thank you,
