moving WHS to new HW RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all
I plan to buy new HW and want to figure out what is the easiest way to move the existing Installation/Data.
New HW is with 2 500 GB Samsung SATA.

In the old config I have 2 200 GB IDE and 3 USB 160 300 and 320 GB all include in the WHS. I think I could free the 320 USB which has an ESATA connector.

So I could make a new Installation on the new HW and then move the existing Data from one machine to the other.
    Is this an good idea?

    Thanks for tips

  • I think the easiest way would be to have both WHS running and copy your shared data from one to the other.

Long and boring (potentially) but the safest option.

  • I Have now decided which HW I would buy:

    Mainboard: ASRock ALiveXFire-eSATA2

    CPU: AMD BE2350

    Samsums SATA Disks 500GB

    2 GB Memory

Are there any issues with drivers in this configuration?

    Thanks for tips
