My case ID is
1061001048
Can not find the thread?

I wrote a detailed message of the problem I have and was giving this case #
1061001048
Now I can not find the thread and I do not want to rewrite all this again. So it seems that not only LOC has problems, this help site also has its problems.
Any way, I hope someone finds my original message and add it to this thread. I have red status can not download updates or start the program, I get an error message to report to Microsoft. The repair dwonload tool does not work (same error message)..
Uninstalled and reinstalled software three times, same problem. Restored system to one month ago, same problem.
Please find the case # info as it has error details listed.

Steve,
I wrote a detailed message as you requested and I was given a case ID. I can not find the thread, may be that is how this works (not sure). Any way, posted new threads with my case #. Hopefully, I get a response from someone soon.

Tarek, I've merged your posts into a single thread. This is the forum for OneCare and I referred you to support, who you contacted, by virtue of the fact that you have a case ID.
Support will email you back, usually within 24 hours, but sometimes longer over the weekend. Be sure to check your junk mail/spam folders to insure that you receive the reply.
However, I am now pretty sure that your problem is with a corrupt .Net Framework 2.0 installation, causing OneCare to fail to open. Try the following while you await help from support:
To repair .Net Framework 2.0 on XP:
Open Control Panel
Select Add or Remove Programs
Locate Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0
Select the entry and when the installer launches, select Repair.
Reboot when it completes.
Alternatively, see this KB article:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306160
To remove a corrupt .Net Framework install, use this tool:

The download of .Net Framework 2.0 can be found here:
To repair .Net Framework 2.0 and 3.0 on Vista, see this blog entry:

Thank you Steve,
I followed the links you gave and was able to remove framework, used cleaning tools described. Similar to what I was told by the LOC support. Their direction did not work, but the link you provided did the trick. When I got LOC back up, it seemed that it was not completely installed from the removal and installation that I did few days ago.
I had to finish the installation. Unfortunately, this was a fresh installation on this computer. Now I have two computers with the same name in my network circle. The new installation is the hub with no back up configuration and the old name with several back ups, I have no access to it and I do know how to change it or transfer the back up to the new name. Is it possible to do that or I have to start from scratch?
Regards

After a reinstall, you need to start a new backup. The old backups are still valid for restore purposes, but you can't add to them any longer. If you want to delete the old backups -

On the hub PC, you can remove the "ghost" entry from your Circle. Note the last activity date to see the one that is the ghost.
