can't do backups after restoring?? RRS feed

    Hi,
     I recently had a crash on one of my laptops and was able to do a restore from the Home Server.  Since then I have not been able to get a full backup.  The status bar will go to 23% and then will stop and a message will come up sayin that there is a problem with my WHS connector software.  I have tried reinstalling and completely eliminating the computer from the WHS and then doing a complete reinstall.  Still have the same problem.  Obviously I am connecting with the WHS via the connector software, any ideas?  All my other laptops back up fine.

    Hi,
    maybe the crash was not without a reason, so that eliminating the computer from the backups might have been a mistake.
    Maybe I can give you one or two ideas:
    • Check the event logs of client or server for more detailed error messages.
    • Run chkdsk /f /r on your laptops harddisk.
    • Eventually rename the laptop (even if this should not matter, since the backup started according to your description).
