ClientSyncProvider ClientID RRS feed

  • Question

  • In Microsoft.Synchronization.Data.ClientSyncProvider we must create a ClientID property that gets or sets a GUID.  Great.

I have been unable to find any definitive info on the context of this GUID.  Does it have to be uniqe to the DB?  The Client?  The Session?

I haven't been able to make peace with the sync framework.  I feel really dumb. (especially since I'd misspelled peace before the edit!!!!)

  • Hi SaroDude,

The ClientID is for the Client and basically it is used in each sync session when applying/selecting the changes from the server. Before I jump in discussing with you about the details of the ClientID property, may I ask what your scenario is, and what you want to achieve ?
