MSCRM production issue not generated on backup organization. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello All,

I have come across the situation below are points.

1.On production machine the CRM has some issue .

    2. To resolve this issue i have taken the backup of the production database and restore that on another machine.

3.From that machine i have imported the organization for this database.

    4. Now when i am checking for the issue which was on the production the same issue is not here in this organization, why this strange behaviour i am confused about this.

Kindly share the ideas for this how can i resolve this.

The issue is still on production to resolve that we have taken the database backup and trying to work on that so that the any changes required first will do on backup and the same will be applied on the production

  • Hi EmpAnsar,

whats the issue? First you should reimport the DB on the machine where you have the issue and see if it is present after reimport there also or not.

  • Thanks for the reply.

actually the machine is production so we can not re import the same on the production machine.

is there any other solution for this.

  • No, you can delete the current and reimport or change the name also..

  • Hi,

As Daniel said, what sort of issue do you have? I wouldn't delete the production instance as a troubleshooting step unless it's the last way out btw.

You COULD re-import it as another db on the production machine, but to be able to import it as a parallell organization you need to change som ID, which I can't remember atm, and see if you still have the issue. That is also perhaps a move that is to be tried further along the way.

Are your Environments set up identically? If not you might have a hard time troubleshooting too since you don't know where the issue comes from.
