  • Question

  • Hi,

I am working with a person who is using MCSE as part of their email signature.   I thought that Microsoft required/encourages people using certification initials in their email signatures to supply their certification ID?

Is there any way to check if this person's certification is valid, and if not to whom should I report false use of Microsoft Certifications.

Thank you very much for any info that you can provide.

  • No, publishing your certification ID is actually discouraged. It should be kept confidential and only revealed to trusted parties, because anyone who knows your ID and a little bit of information about you (such as your name and email) could impersonate you when contacting the service center.

Instead, if someone needs to validate your certification, you can provide them with your Transcript Sharing Code. You can generate this code from the MCP site, and it can be used to access your transcript at the corresponding web site.
