You can install UPS software on Vail RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • I was able by accessing my server through RDC to install my battery backup software (UPS) on the server.  It installed (automatically to "programs X86" on Drive C) flawlessly.  I was able to configure the software after a reboot, which occurred automatically as well.  After the configuration process, I tested the UPS using the "test" button from within the software.  It worked perfectly.  An icon is located in the system tray.  If I did something wrtong, please advise.  The UPS is from Cyberpower.

  • Not tried it on Vail, but that's the way it works on V1. I would suggest that's fine.

  • There is a great add-on for USB UPS devices called GriJunction (http://www.kentdome.com/gridjunction).  I will guess that he will update it for vail as well.

I use this rather then the powerchute software that came with my SmartUPS.

  • I would really like to see this for Vail, the APC software, business edition costs money. I still use the original software but would really like to upgrade to something that works better.

    Will wait and see, thanks.
