Connect OS disk to sata II or leave SATA II for data disk??? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

My motherboard has 2 SATA 1 (150mb/s) connector and 2 SATA II (300 mb/s) connector.

I have 3 terabytes SATA II disks....

Which one should I connect to the SATA 1 interface, the OS disk? or one of the data disk?

    Thanks

  • Your OS should reside on the fastest controller since it will be handling not only OS activity, but also file activity from the normal use of WHS.

  • I 've done the exact opposite. Can I simply swap the drives from connector or should I use the wizard to do it??
