Problems with my cd/dvd drive on HP ZE4400

  Im having problems i cannot play cds or dvds i updated the driver and also did the driver rollback but my drive does not appear in the hardware list or when i click on my computer (only the local C) is there...sometimes rarely i do the seach for new hardware and it appers and then its back on the hardware list but then in disappears again.This thing is really been bothering me since i tried everything in the trouble shooting.

  I am getting power and it all works good but its like is not even plugged the hardware search never shows it up any more..it only showed it like 2 times months ago. any suggestions?
