MySQL SSL connection c# RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to make connection to my MySQL databse via SSL.

        string conn = "Server=<IP address>;Database=<dbName>;Uid=<username>;Pwd=xxxxxxxx; SSLMode = Required;";
                try
                {
                    using (MySqlConnection db = new MySqlConnection(conn))
                    {
                        db.Open();
                        MessageBox.Show("Connection Open");
                    }
                }
    My host: Ubuntu-Plesk 12.5.30. I've ticked the box REQUIRE SSL in phpMyadmin for the <userName> in Edit priviliges settings.Also I used Let's encypt to secure plesk panel. Also I've assigned database to the domain and I've used let's encypt to secure that domain but this did not help.

    But when I'm trying to run my application I've got error 'The host <IP address> does not support SSL connection.

    I'm very new with SSL certificate. I was looking for answer in google but I did not find any clear explanation how to setup everything from the begining using plesk and MySQL.

    Thank you for any help.
