I am working as a Sr. Developer and I have more than 5 years of experience on visual studio and sql server. I am planning to do certification. Please could anyone give me suggestion which is better for my professional.
I surfed on net and I felt MCPD could be better but I am not sure. Is MCPD ok? Please advice me and also about the cost. Is MCPD retired ? Is MCPD higher level certification? because I came across some articles that MCPD has been retired. Please confirm me.
Please give me some links where shall I find the clear details of certifications.

MCPD ("Professional Developer") is not yet retired, but it will be soon. I suggest getting a newer MCSD ("Solutions Developer") certification. You can find all the details in this page:

If you want the MCSD on Web applications, then you need three exams: 480, 486 and 487.

Click on each of the exams and you will see detailed information about the skills measured by each one.

Thanks Alberto. I surfed on MCSD. I am not getting clear picture about it. How many exams should I take for MCSD? Is it 3 or 4? Could you please give me some links regarding it.
