Change Business Unit during Migration of MS CRM 4.0 to 2011 RRS feed

    Hello,

    We are migrating MS CRM 4.0 organization database to CRM 2011. We have installed 2011 and imported the 4.0 organization on top of it and successfully got migrated. Now, the Business unit is pointing to the old name as we have migrated the 4.0 organization. But we would like to change the Business Unit name in 2011 environment.

    1. Do we have any possibility to change the Business Unit Name?

    2. If we dont have an alternative, can we create a new Business Unit and update the users to point this one? In this process, will it impact the privileges/roles on the records the users having access to?

           There is no possibility

          You can create new business units, yes it affects privileges and roles.
