  • Question

  • I have seen that this question has been asked before.  My system is an Acer Travelmate 2301LCI, Windows XP SP2.  Before installing SP 3 I had completed all known updates for SP 2.  I had removed my Anti-Virus program before installing SP 3.

However, I have followed the steps listed in post before placing this question.  My system passes the MGA as shown:

  • Hello William,

Since you are running Volume Licensing editions of both XP Pro and Office 2007 Pro Plus, you must be in an environment that has an IT department.

Before doing any diagnostic work or making any changes to the computer, you will want to check with them first.

  • Dan,

Thanks for your reply... You are correct!  However, I have been tasked with finding a solution to this issue and have hit a brick wall.

It's not uncommon for IT professional to request assistance as I am now.  Sure it would be easy to just re-format and install applications over again.  But, finding the solution would provide assistance to other should this happen again in the future.

As for XP Pro it is an OEM version that was installed on system when received.  All other updates have went without issue including SP 2.

Therefore, I shall continue my search....
