A Split should assume the same forum if none is specified RRS feed

  • Question

  • The usual case when a split is needed is when the OP having already got an answer to his question then asks a new question in the same thread instead of starting a new thread.

In that most common case the split thread goes to the same forum.

When you know it's going to the same forum you quite often specify the title and the reason for the split but don't hunt out a forum for it to go to.

At the moment this gives the reply (which also wipes out what you have written for the title and reason - solved sometimes by back in the browser) that you must specify a forum.

Can't you in this case assume that if no forum is specified, the same forum is the one it should go to ?

(This is a completely different situation to a Move where clearly you are moving to a different forum so a forum must be specified).
