Unable to Update Windows XP Home RRS feed

  • Question

  •

I am working on a computer for a friend to update all security and other issues.  I recently ran Windows Update & was notified there were 22 updates to be performed.  Of these, 14 failed to install and one, KB892130, Windows Genuine Advantage, was identified in the "Updates History" list as a gray circle with a horizontal dash in it (cancelled).  I suspect that the incomplete installation of KB892130 is preventing the installation of these 14 other updates.  How do I correct this situation?  I have tried several times to install KB892130 via Windows Update without success.  I am running AVG Free antivirus software & have tried turning it off on a couple of these attempts, again without success.

Your diagnostics seem to come up fine so it is most likely an issue with receiving updates and is out of the scope
