Blocked Product Key RRS feed

  • Question

  • Mea culpa.

I used the same product key on two machines (a desktop and a laptop). First use was on the desktop and validated fine. The second use was to verify that Win 7 would run on the laptop (MS tool suggested there would be issues). After a lot of tweaking of drivers it finally does and I have validated the laptop with a new product key that has passed validation.

Coincidentally, the desktop key has become blocked, diagnostic report follows

  • From your MGA Report:

    Windows Product ID: 00371-221-2469867-86610

The question of the hour is:  How did you obtain the Windows 7 Professional product key?

You need to review: Blocked Keys

    Q.  "How do I set about getting the key unblocked?"

    A.   You will need to purchase two (2)  genuine retail Windows 7 Professional – Full Version licenses.  One (1) for your desktop and one (1) for your laptop.  Then see:  Update Your Product Key in Windows 7

  • Right, both boxes and media fail the "How to Tell" test.

I'll set about getting two genuine keys, but not from eBay!

    Many thanks for your assistance,

    Jindivik
