Async Services running on both front end web servers RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all

We have a two front end server environment running.

Due to a historical issue we had with CRM, we have only ever run the async services on one of the front ends.

Because this creates a resiliency issue I'd like to resolve that now.

Am I right in thinking that if I simply start the async services on the second front end - that thats a supported configuration and won't cause any issues? In other words - its ok for both the Asynchronous Processing Service and the Asynchronous Processing Service (Maintenance) services to be started on both machines at the same time?

    Thanks

    S

  • Hi,

Yes - it is ok to have two async services running on different machines. They will both take a share of the async operations, so you will approximately half the load on the current async server.

  • Thanks matey

I was nearly certain that was true but wanted to make doubly doubly sure before firing the other services up
