The HD on my Toshiba crashed and I had to have it replaced. I used the recovery media I created when I bought the laptop a couple years before the crash and was able to reinstall most programs (Office '07, for instance). The MS COA on the bottom of
the pc is totally unreadable (believe me, I have tried!), and I get the "This copy of Windows is not genuine" message and the Activation screen all the time. I called Toshiba and they told me to call Microsoft. I called Microsoft and
they told me to call Toshiba. I can't afford to pay for a new version of Windows, and don't think I should have to since I already have it and it IS valid. Any recourse at all?
