  • A couple of questions

    1) Currently there is opt-out functionality. Is there a timeline that this will be mandatory to obtain any updates and not just AU?

    2) With the impending roll-out of full IE7 (not Beta, but the final product), will WGA be a requirement to upgrade from IE6?

    3) Will WGA be automatically be coded into Vista (not Beta, final product)?

    4) Has there been any timeline extension to obtain a legitimate copy of the OE if the criteria has been met as indicated in the WGA FAQs?

    5) Is MSFT working with other industry leaders with regards to WGA? For example, will future downloads of legitimate products from Symantec or Corel be blocked?

  • For many of your questions I would like to refer you to our FAq located here. We have to be very careful about discussing future business decisions while they are still under discussion.

As far as question number 5 there are no such plans at this time.

  • Been through the FAQ a dozen times and, since it isn't clearly spelled out, the reason for asking on this board.

There are some people actually encouraging others not to validate and use the holes in the system (workarounds). It would be nice to refer those confused to a specific thread.

As for question #5, it is understandable that you cannot comment on any ongoing negotiations with business partners and/or competitors.

    (ps - thanks anyways)
