Setting Up Network Printers RRS feed

  • Question

  • How do I go about setting up my HP Laserjet 4050N as a network attached printer?  It is using the jetdirect card and can print o.k. from my win 7 PC.  When I look for it on the console it can't resolve the printer name or find any network printers.  What am I missing?

Thanks and Merry Xmas to all,

  • What do you refer to as console? The WHS console? This doesn't include or support printer handling.
If the desktop, you will need to add a TCP/IP printer port pointing to the print server, before you can refer the printer driver to it.

  • I take it from what I have googled, the jetdirect card is lets you attach the printer to a ethernet cable and to your network. have you got all the relevant Server 2003 drivers installed on your Windows Home Server?
