Why should I pay again? RRS feed

The Genuine Windows with my new computer was in Korean so the computer store loaded an English version of Windows (not genuine).  I didn't realise the software was not genuine till much later.  But, as far as I concerned - I have already paid for Windows (XP Home Edition), I have the CD in front of me (in Korean) and don't think I should have to pay again.

I tried the `Change the Product Key tool' but it wouldn't work.  Error message.

What I think is that if I have paid to use Windows and am using one equivalent version instead - I have paid enough for the product.  If I was using the Korean language version and the pirated version - yes, I could see why you would want to be paid more. But that's not the case.  Please advise. Thanks.

  • If you wish to install the English version of Windows XP, then you'll have to purchase a license for the English version of Windows XP.  Otherwise, you'll need to reformat your hard drive and reinstall the Koren version of Windows XP which shipped with your computer.
