Using departure times RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Has anyone figured out a way to use Streets and Maps to determine travel time if you leave at different times of the day.  For example, when we are travelling somewhere and it is a 2-3 day trip, we usually start after work on the first day (6:00 PM) and drive until around 9:00.  Then the next day we start at around 7-8 AM.  But if we put in 6 PM for the first day, it makes every day's travelling be 6-9.  Is there any way to put in a different starting time each day?

  • What you want to do works well in S&T 2010, not sure about older versions.  Use the route planner and input the desired start location and each overnight stopping location for your trip.  Then highlight the first entry on your route and click the schedule stop icon on the top right of the route planner list.  On your first departure entry, Click the depart at box and enter your departure time of 6:00 PM.  On your next and subsequent stops hightligh the stop and click the schedule stop icon and click the stop for box and enter the no of nites at this loc, then click the depart at box and enter the departure time that you anticipate leaving the next morning.  Do this for each route stop.  When finished inputting your information, calculate the route.  The driving instructions will show your trip with the evening departure and arriving 2-3 hours later at your first overnite stop, Day 2's departure time which you entered your trip will show on driving instructions and so on for each overnight stop on your trip.   I have a route configured as you stated with 4 overnight stops and varying departure times each day.   Print your route if you desire
