Upgrading CRM 2011 On-Prem to CRM 2011 Online

Question
-
Hello,
Our company has recently upgraded our environment from CRM 4.0 on prem to CRM 2011 on prem. We are now wanting to move this 2011 on prem environment to Online. How can this be done? I read back in 2011 that there was no formal process or tool to do this.
Can anyone tell me if any formal process or tool has been developed to do this in the last 2 years? Will MS help us do this? Any help will be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Hi,
I doesn't sync N:N relationships or attachments/notes.
It's also rather cumbersome to get working for lots of entities - here is a post I did a while back on the subject:

Hi,
At present there is no upgrade procedure offered by Microsoft - but Sychronicity Echo does a very good job:

You have two ways:
1) Write your own migration code to migrate the data to the online environment
2) Use an integration software like Scribe to migrate the data
Microsoft currently offers assistance only with the opposite way (from online to onpremis)My blog: www.crmanswers.net

Thanks, I found a download called the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Instance Adapter where you can move Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 data between on-premises to the cloud. Is anyone familiar with this tool? Can it be used to move all stored data from on prem to the cloud and then turned off?

I've used the Instance Adaptor and whilst it's good for moving simple records like contacts/accounts - it does have limitations if you want to move all your data. It is also quite hard to setup since you need to provide mappings for all your attributes.
