The Product Key printed on the Certificate of Authenticity on the bottom of your Toshiba laptop pertains to Windows Vista ONLY and does not have anything to do with Microsoft Office.
Please have a look at this MS KB article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919895 to learn more about how trial installations of Microsoft Office can be activated.

We request all users initially run the Genuine Diagnostics tool to try and identify the issue you may be having.
Download and run the utility at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 , then click the Windows tab, Copy to Clipboard, then paste the report into a New Post on this Forum.
Step 2 is tell us about the COA. Tell us:
1. What edition of Windows XP is it for, Home, Pro, or Media Center?
2. Does it read "OEM Software" or "OEM Product" in black lettering?
3. Or, does it have the computer manufacturer's name in black lettering?

The Issue i have is, whenever i try to access word or excel document it is asking me for the product key, i use the product key on the sticker provided when i bought the computer but the system is telling me it is incorrect..., as it is, i cannot access word or any of the microsoft document properly.

A genuine product key for a Microsoft Office 2010 suite may be purchased from the Microsoft Store.
