found new hardware wizard keeps appearing for a printer that is already installed


  • I have an HP Laserjet 1300 printer. I was getting an error message from the printer, so I uninstalled it and reinstalled the drivers using the HP downloaded drivers. The printer now works fine. BUT, now every time I start my computer, the found new hardware wizard comes up. If I try to run it, it gets to a window that says it needs a certain driver file, and wants me to find it on my hard disk. I cannot find this file so the wizard cannot complete and I have to cancel out. Then it comes up again next time I start my computer! Is there any way to tell the wizard that the printer is already installed????

    I tried going to the device manager and updating drivers, and when I did that it told me I already have the newest driver installed. There is no problem in the device manager.

    What to do??????
