    What will happen to Project Server 2007 CALs and Portfolio Server 2007 CALs when the two products are merged?
    Without an clear direction it is kind of irresponsible to continue rolling out and buying Portfolio Server 2007 CALs...

    Great question.  Provided that a customer purchases their Portfolio Server 2007 products with Software Assurance (SA) they have a straight license migration to Project Server 2010 and the supporting CAL's.  Project Server 2010 incorporates the most common features of Project Portfolio Server 2007, so migrating users will get a 1 for 1 upgrade.  For each Project Portfolio Server license they will receive 1 Project Server 2010 Server license; for each Project Portfolio Server CAL they have, they will receive 1 Project Server 2010 CAL.  More specific information on this and similar topics can be provided by a customers regional sales representatives and pricing and licensing documentation that will be issued in the 1st quarter of calendar 2010.
