Pre-Created AD Groups: Possible for no server account in PrivUserGroup? RRS feed

  • Hello, we're attempting to deploy CRM 4.0 with pre-created AD groups to comply with AD naming convention at company. See KB946677, option 2, AutoGroupManagementOff = 1. Upon completion of installation, we navigate to the site and get "The user Id is invalid." KB946620 says to add the CRM server account to the PrivUserGroup in AD. Unfortunately adding a computer account to groups in AD also violates company policy. Can anyone please inform me why adding a computer account to the PrivUserGroup is required, especially in light of us not using the email router? Can anyone also please inform me of a potential workaround? Kindest regards.
