    I have been writing an essay and it has always been saved on my documents and has opened. I have gone to open it and a warning sign on word "The directory name is not valid". I opened it on the 7th march and it was fine and saved. 

    It is on my quick access file and will not open. 

    on the file this is the file location is. 

    myname\appdata\local\packages\microsoftcommunicationsapps\8wekyb3d8bbwe\localstate\files\S0\2823

    Help where is my work I have been through every file in this location link to see its there but having no luck.

    Hi,

    I'm afraid you are in a wrong place. This is a forum for developers of Windows Forms.

    Putting that aside...
    The file location looks strange. Usually our documents (Word, Excel, etc.) are not saved in such file path.

    You mentioned "I have been writing an essay".
    Please provide software/application name you are using for writing the essay,
    or provide the file name (with file extension, without file path).

    Have you searched in your "Documents" folder, or searched within your computer using file name?
