An unhandled exception occurred: Setting instance 'TemplateId' has not been set. . RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We have set up HPC 2012, and fo first few days it worked without much trouble but starting to see error in the HPC portal:

An unhandled exception occurred: Setting instance 'TemplateId' has not been set. .

Try restarting HPC Cluster Manager, or contact your cluster administrator. If the problem persists, contact Microsoft Support.

More info: HPC cluster is hosted on Azure (both head and compute nodes). We deallocate the compute nodes at the end of the day and auto restart next day.

    Any help is appriciated

    Thank you

  • This is a known issue that being fixed in the recent QFE, could you try to patch the QFE on your cluster?

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=56614&WT.mc_id=rss_alldownloads_all

the issue is "- Fix the issue that cluster manager keeps crashing after clicking “Node Templates” if there is un-approved node. "

We are in the middle of patching our azure HPC Images but haven't finished yet. Thus you have to install the QFE manually at this moment
