Synctoy refuses to run RRS feed

    I run vista home prem and synctoy 2.0. When I start synctoy it refuses to run. several other programs also refused to run. I get the message program does not run anymore. Last week I had no problems at all. I deinstalled all the framework.net with the help of a cleanup tool. after that installed framework 3.5  but had the same problems. It just wont run.
    I searched the internet but can not find a solution that works. I hope somebody can help me.

    Hi -

     

    SyncToy 2.0 requires .net Framework 2.0 to run and it appears that so do many other applications that you need. You need to reinstall 2.0 ( you do not have to remove 3.5)

    Can you go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer and look at the event logs to see if you find a specific cause for the errors you are seeing?

     

    Did you try re-installing SyncToy?

    Hi thanks for the fast response I downloaded dotnetfx from the Microsoft site but every time when I want to install it i get the message that the program is a part of the operating system and it refuses to install it. Is there a way to get it installed

    Hi

    Yes I downloaded it. I used a cleaning tools to deinstall all my framework files and registry. But when I try to install net 2.0 it starts but at a certain moment it shows rolling back and I get the message installation failed. Sop i am back to square one.

    Does the .net fx setup provide an error code or log file location? You could use that information to search for known issues or try posting on the .net framework forums.

    I don't know what changed but i managed to install framework 2.0. I removed synctoy and installed it again but with no results. Synctoy refuses to run also the other programmes i mentioned before have the same problem. I hope I don't have to do a compleet vista install.
