I cannot run the Microsoft Fix it ...error comes up. No explanation

  Why I cannot run Microsoft fix it?  errors coming up.  also.. the computer tells me that I have a corrupted file C. Windows/system 32 config software.,log is corrupt and unreadable.  I have run malware scans from Microsoft and disc checks...but no one tells me how to get rid of this corrupted file in my system.  Everything comes up fine and dandy with these scans.....No infected files, no viruses...yet I have a corrupted file in the system   Any help out there wouuld be greatly appreciated.   I have Internet Explorer 9.  I have taken out downloads I thought may be causing the problem.  I had ARO 2o12 in the computer and took that out....but I guess the damage is already done correct?
