.chm files Windows 10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Dear all

I upgraded to Windows 10. However, when I downloaded .chm files, I was unable to read it.

I tried to right-click and enter properties. Unfortunately, there was no "Unblock" button.

I wonder if there is any ways to solve my problems.

    Thanks for help!

Answers

  • To unblock a downloaded file, run the Unblock-File PowerShell 3.0 commandlet, like this:

    Unblock-File .\php_manual_en.chm

For other ways refer: How to Unblock Files in Windows 8 from the right-click Context Menu

    Another way is to :

    1. Open command prompt and run as administrator.

    2. Go to location where chm file is located.

    3. Input the file name (xxx.chm) and click on enter.

  • But what is this to do with C#? Is your code doesn't work too?

  • There is no Unblock-file commandlet in PowerShell for Windows Server 2008 R2.

I was able to open the help file from an administrator command line on the server, but that does not help trying to open the files remotely from a Windows 10 Client.  Besides, there are 100s of CHM files in the SAP Help Folder.  How do I make them all viewable in Windows 10?

  • You would want to do the unblock on client (windows 10) side.
