Trial WHS Download... Burned ISO... Questions about install RRS feed

Answers

  • You have either downloaded or burnt the wrong iso - this could have been caused by a proxy error if you are using one.  20 minutes ago I downloaded the ISO you describe and it was Windows Home Server with Power Pack 3.

Windows Home Server with Power Pack 3 is 840MB.
    Windows Server 2008 R2 is around 2.8GB.

I followed the link you gave:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=e3694b69-93f6-4267-b881-55ce0648c784
and got Windows Home Server PP3 so I would try once again and be vigilant of where you save the file to and burn the file from.

    Good luck,
    Al

  • Thank you I think I was just working without a lot of sleep.  Now that it is a new day, I took your advise and re-downloaded WHS and just like you said it was 840MB.  I am not sure how I came across Server2008 but I thought I was going to pull my hair out last night.  Thanks again.  I knew I was doing something wrong.
