Unable to Authenticate 2011 Outlook Client to IFD RRS feed

  • CRM works fine in the browser and in the 4.0 client. Visiting https://company.example.com redirects me to https://login.example.com/..., I get the ADFS login page and type in the username and password and am redirected back to CRM. However, when I go to configure the Outlook Client, enter the discovery service url https://disc.example.com and click "Test Connection", I am presented with a login prompt which will chain fail even if I enter the correct credentials. I created the HomeRealmUrl registry key as described by the implementation guide.

    Is there any reason that it would chain fail saying that my credentials are invalid when I try to log in using the Outlook client?

  • Chris, you only need to specify HomeRealmUrl when claims federation is configured and CRM client needs to authenticate cross realm (usually from one domain to another).

    For regular IFD deployments there is not need to provide HomeRealmUrl
