Powerpoint Validation Issue RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've had this issue for a while and no amount of search has turned up a result that works.

When I go to Powerpoint and try to download a template, it says I have to validate Office.

I don't know how many times it wants me to validate Office before it realizes that yes, it is in fact a genuine Office that was installed properly, but this has become a pain.

I have gone through every help I could find, the "Where do  I get started?" (all said I was genuine, installed correctly, everything was dandy), and yet it still tells me every time I go to download a template that it has to make sure my Office is a geuine copy.

I just want a stupid powerpoint template. No other Office program has this issue, and Powerpoint works fine doing everything else EXCEPT downloading templates.

Can someone tell me how to make this stop?

  • Hello Love_1776,

We request all users initially run the Genuine Diagnostics tool to try and identify the issue you may be having.

Download and run the utility at this link http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 , then click the Windows tab, Copy to Clipboard, then paste the report into a New Post on this Forum.

Step 2 is tell us about the CoA. Tell us:
    1. What edition of Windows XP is it for, Home, Pro, or Media Center?
    2. Does it read "OEM Software" or "OEM Product" in black lettering?
    3. Or, does it have the computer manufacturer's name in black lettering?
    4. DO NOT post the Product Key that may be printed on the CoA.
    5. Please also provide a short description of the issue you are experiencing.

NOTE: The data collected with the Genuine Diagnostics Tool does NOT contain any information that can personally identify you and can be fully reviewed, by you, before being posted.

    Thank you,

    Stephen Holm
