FIX freezes and won't respond RRS feed

    Ran program to find and fix problems
    Reported 'problems found- click on FIX to repair"
    Click on Fix and after it ask for confirmation it enters a new screen but stops right there and nbever runs the fix.
    This has never worked past this fix situatiuon
    Trying to get help is even a worse problem.
    This is an impossible situation that Microsoft has made for any help.
    The program looks very good but will not complete the FIX it has identified.
    Any Suggestions

  • I assume that it also doesn't report what problem has been identified. Unfortunately, there have been a handful of reports regarding the Fix button not working - it attempts to execute a script, based on what the found problem is - however, the best I can do is advise you to contact support.

  • Try performing these steps:
    1) Turn on the printer and make sure it is connected to your PC
    2) Click the "Fix" option in OneCare

    I had the same problem a month ago and got a response from Microsoft but now I cannot find it, now that I have some time to try to “FIX” the problem.  How do you find “Fixes” that Microsoft has given someone? 

    I am one of the many that are having the same problem with the "Fix" freezing.  If Microsoft cannot "FIX" my problem I will go with Symantec’s at the end of the month and cancel my subscription with MS.

    By the way, how can I remove backups from my external hard disk to free up some space?

    I'm not sure what you mean about finding the "Fixes" given to someone. If you mean what OneCare has found and wants to fix via the button, I suspect that it may be located in the support logs - open OneCare, click Change Settings, logging tab, create a Support Log. However, I've never encountered a problem requiring a Fix, so I haven't actually seen this in the report that displays when you view the logs. If you mean the information sent by support, I can't see that, but with a case number, I can get someone to investigate and follow-up.
